Huxley Hound: A review

The world’s first range of fully traceable organic vegetable treats for dogs.

We first encountered Huxley Hound and their tasty healthy treats at Discover Dogs, Tilly’s loved them ever since! Huxley Hound were kind enough to participate in our 10K Instagram giveaway, and recently sent Miss T some more of their “Better Than Raw” vegetable goodies to try out.

Parsnip, Sweet Potato, Beetroot, Carrot.

Dogs have a hard time breaking down the cellulose in vegetables, because of this I had been freezing vegetables for Tilly, in an attempt to ‘pre-digest’ some of the fibre elements.

Huxley Hound have gone one step further, and have worked with leading universities and independent research bodies to develop the optimum vegetable dehydration process. So, they’ve done all the hard work for us!

Tilly got to try out 4 fabulous flavours. Beetroot, Carrot, Parsnip, and Sweet Potato. I decided a good old fashioned taste test was in order.

1st place: Sweet Potato. The sweet potato is a new favourite, I could see she really enjoyed the chewy texture and kept wanting more!

2nd place: Carrot

3rd place: Beetroot, which she carefully examined before scarfing it down.

4th place: Parsnip. The only one she was unsure about, she did give it a good chew though, and it was her first time with the vegetable.

A big thumbs (paws) up from Tilly and I. Huxley Hound’s range of organic vegetable treats are simple and nutritious, and are perfect for pooches who may be watching their waistline, they also smell quite pleasant!

Big thanks to Huxley Hound for spoiling Tilly! Follow Huxley Hound on Instagram to keep up with their adorable mini dachshunds Huxley and Rolo, and find out more on their website, here.

Thanks for reading,

Amy and Tilly
