Looks like summer is on it’s way, time to cool of those dogs!
This is a super easy way of making a cool (and healthy) treat for your pup to have on a warm day. Tilly loves her fruit and veggies, so this is a perfect way of combining her favorites.
Ingredients:Β
- Blueberries
- Apple
- Carrot
- Banana
- Broccoli
- Peas

Both blueberries and peas are a great source of antioxidants, along with fiber and iron.
Things to avoid include: Onions, most nuts, grapes/raisins, cherries.Β If you have any concern about what to feed your dog, consult with your vet.
Method:
- Chop up fruits + veggies into small sized pieces (excluding blueberries and peas).
- Fill your ice cube or lolly mold half way up with your fruits and veggies.
- Fill with water.
- Freeze!
- Once frozen, take the frozen treats out of the ice cube tray and put into a bag to free up space in your freezer.

Paw print ice cube molds, I couldn’t resist!
I’ve found using large ice cube trays to be the most suitable. If you’re using a lolly mold, then make sure to supervise your dog when eating.

Waiting patiently for her treats…hurry up freezer!

Excuse the broccoli, I managed to get it everywhere!
I think they turned out rather well,Β Tilly gives it her approval, she’s all set for the summer!

Poodle approved!
If your dog isn’t such a fan of the healthy stuff, try adding some dried meat treats in with the veggies to encourage them to have a nibble.
What’s your pooches favourite frozen snack?
