Hi guys! Iโm so excited to share our first review with you all.
Some of you may know this already, but Iโve been vegan for just over a year. Being responsible for a dog at times conflicts with this and leaves me feeling guilty, so Iโm always looking for ways to minimise both my own, and Tillyโs impact on our environment. I quote I really like is, โDonโt do nothing because you canโt do everything.โ โ Colleen Patrick- Goudreau.
As I donโt buy leather, little miss Tilly is kitted out with the most fabulous fabric collars. But I do find myself missing that smart look you get from a leather collar. So when I happened upon Koko Collective I just had to buy one!
I first came across their accessories after our friends Alfie, and Archie & Winnie modelled them so perfectly, and had such lovely things to say. Koko Collective make beautiful ethical accessories out of recycled bicycle inner tubing and vintage saris. They have so many pretty fabrics to choose fromโฆ purple is our go to, so we went with a fabric called Anaya in size small.
First of all the packaging is adorable, and our parcel came really quickly. Tilly was quite interested at first, but soon started sleeping on the job when the camera came out…
Itโs truly heart-warming to see all the wonderful charity workย Koko Collective does, in fact their products are handmade by the charity Calcutta Rescue in India, who give their employees fair wages, access to free healthcare and schooling for their families. It makes me so happy to see companies like this sprouting up!
Times like this Iโm thankful for having a black dog, it always makes colours stand out!
Iโm so pleased with this collar, it looks gorgeous, and has 100% achieved that smart look I was after. Being made of rubber means it can be a little stiff, but itโs not really an issue as Iโm only taking it on/off Tilly twice a day, plus, rubber lasts well and I can wash it without causing any damage.
One thing to keep in mind for those of you with extra fluffy dogs; rubber collars like these can break the fur (poodle people know what Iโm on about!). Itโs not an issue for us as we keep Tillyโs coat short, and Iโm sure you could avoid this by having your dog wear the collar on the looser side. Another thing I really liked about this collar was that there were plenty of notches for size adjustment. Tilly’s fluff fluctuates a lot so it’s important that I can make collars bigger as she gets fluffier.
I couldnโt have Tilly do some modelling looking like any old scruff bag! Here she is looking fancy after a haircut.
I would totally recommend Koko Collective and their accessories to fellow dog (and cat!)ย owners, especially if you want something a bit different. Our collar is really well made, beautiful, and didn’t break the bank! I’m hooked!
What do you guys think of Tilly’s addition to her Spring wardrobe? I’d love to know what you think.
